...I caught up with Bid recently in a flat in Streatham where, along with two other Set members, he was being filmed in the role of a doctor. I nearly got roped in myself, to play a figure in bed, but I was deemed to be too tall- a good thing, as the idea of being operated on by this bunch of madmen would terrify anyone.
- Why are you with Cherry Red now?
Bid: "The truth is, Andy and I were going through a book of indie record labels, and ringing every one. It made sense to us. We started at "A", and by the time we got to Cherry Red, we'd got a deal. Lucky really, further down the same page were Crap Platters and Cunt Records."

...if I thought the band were mad, I was then introduced to Tony Potts, the director of this bloody mess. He was sitting in a wicker basket on the floor, wrapped in a white sheet with a Christmas stocking on one foot. When I asked him why he was holding a mandolin, he screeched "Satan!", and hit me on the shins with it.

Tony

- Why did you get Carrie in the band?
Andy: "Lester refused to have a sex change."
-Why did she leave?
Andy: "She refused to have a sex change."
- Then why did Morris leave?
Andy: "He refused to shave his moustache off. And his ears."
- Er, and why did Nick return?
Andy: "He actually did find a tap-dancing gerbil called Jason. Foz was its agent."
